Behind the build
Mazda RX-7 FC
Mazda launched the second-generation RX-7, called the FC, in 1985. It kept the rotary engine that made the first RX-7 special, but it was more powerful and more refined, and a turbocharged version was available. Its sharp, wedge-shaped body led many people to compare it with the Porsche 944 of the same era. The FC was built into the early 1990s, when the curvier FD took over.
